If you are participating in EOAs IDA program you will attend the first class, “Introduction to IDAs and Opportunity Costs” at a classroom setting. The rest of this Economic Literacy program can be taken online and when you are done you will have completed the Economic Literacy requirement of our IDA program.

Following are the steps to complete this program.

1. Interview / Application into the IDA Program

2. Attend the one class “Introduction to IDAs and Opportunity Costs” where you will receive your text book.

3. Log on to our website, www.EOAWC.org. click on the IDA link and then click on the online classes link.

4. Budgeting class.

a) Take and submit the pretest.

b) Read the instructions and follow the book to complete this chapter.

c) Take and submit the post test.

5. Credit and Loans Class

a) Take and submit the pretest.

b) Read the instructions and follow the book to complete this chapter.

c) Take and submit the post test.

6. Checking and Savings Account Class

a) Take and submit the pretest.

b) Read the instructions and follow the book to complete this chapter.

c) Take and submit the post test.

7. Insurance and Taxes Class

a) Take and submit the pretest.

b) Read the instructions and follow the book to complete this chapter.

c) Take and submit the post test.

8. Goal Setting and Critical Thinking Skills Class

a) Take and submit the pretest.

b) Read the instructions and follow the book to complete this chapter.

c) Take and submit the post test.

9. Homeownership, Preparing for College and Small Business Class

a) Take and submit the pretest.

b) Read the instructions and follow the book to complete this chapter.

c) Take and submit the post test.

10. You must pass each posttest with a score of 80% or better. If your score is lower than 80% your instructor will contact you and have you review the material and then administer another posttest. Remember, you can take these tests open book and refer to your textbook and class notes.

When you have successfully passed all 6 posttests, the IDA staff will inform you that you passed and mail you a class certificate at the address you provided with your IDA program application.
